Jeweltopia Gameplay Video

I don’t normally write about my development, but I’m really excited about what I’ve got and I’d love to hear some feedback! So, please, if you would, let me know what you think of this little snippet!

I’ve been hard at work on the release version of Jeweltopia. In addition to an entire codebase rewrite, new art design, and a completely new custom soundtrack, I’ve changed the gameplay a little to diversify the experience. (Exactly why is another post for the future.) So, without further ado, I present an exclusive Jeweltopia gameplay video:

I hate most games of this type, but this one really catches my attention for some unique stuff it looks like it’s going to deliver! And if you have a 2 player mode in there, then that’d be a killer! Thumbs up! Hope you’re sucessful!

    Thanks! :)

It’s doubtful 2 player will be available upon release because I’m anxious to get it out onto the portals. However, I have every intention of releasing a “Special Edition,” sometime thereafter, so you can expect I will explore that and many other things. If you’d like, you can join my mailing list and you’ll be among the first to try it out:

I think that for a one man show, you seem to have a solid grasp on video games. The background has passing wisps of a gentle breeze. The pirate bends just before giving the “fire” motion. The screen itself shakes with the unseen cannon blasts. Are those little puff clouds all hearts?
Although they are there, most of these sorts of things go slightly unnoticed. Sure they add up in the end, but you may never hear it from the players. Nice touches man.

[…] soniCron posted gameplay video from his upcoming game - Jeweltopia. While i thought that this will be yet another match-3 clone this video looks really cool. Hopefully this game will play as good as it looks. […]

If it was in the older version, I appologize, but the squash & stretching of the falling blocks looks great.

  6. soniCron Says:

Thanks, Mike. There was some squash ‘n stretch in the old version, but I really amped it up in this one. I wanted to give the game a lot of energy - make it really kinetic.
